January Blues

Does anyone else suffer from the January blues?

It is hard not to after the excitement of the festive season has left us to become just a memory and a month of dieting, no alcohol and the continuing winter weather is set before us!

As I sit to write this month’s blog, post-Christmas and new year, I feel somewhat exhausted yet contented that my family Christmas festivities went to plan and that a few days spent together and with good friends was just what I needed for some R&R after the busy run-up to the Christmas period.

And now, as if by magic, we are in a new decade…Ta-dah!

What is it about great milestones that seem to muster up enthusiasm and hope for something joyful to happen?  Heaven knows we could all do with a lift of spirits after a pretty bleak wet winter and the uncertainty of what is yet to come, whether that is political, financial or worldwide concerns.

The new year also gives a chance to reflect on the year that has passed, with its highs, lows and losses. A time to put old thoughts aside and embrace a fresh, positive mindset with which to tackle the future months to come…If nothing else I’ll raise a glass to that, and yes it will be non-alcoholic!

So let’s embrace 2020 with the hope and positivity it deserves. Look back with pride and achievement, and forward to new beginnings!

New year, new colour…

As we embrace the new decade we will also welcome the latest announcement from Pantone for the colour of 2020.

Classic Blue (19-4052) will be the colour everyone will all be wearing and talking about for 2020. A wonderfully calming shade of blue reminiscent of a dusk sky and exuding a sense of tranquillity, calm and peace.

We will see this beautiful colour start to emerge in our choices of clothing, accessories and jewellery, as well as our home decor too.

Classic Blue is a truly wonderful colour that is able to compliment others perfectly. It is bold enough to stand alone or can make a great accent colour for those slightly less brave. In the style stakes, it is sophisticated yet playful and suits all occasions, formal or relaxed. I think we are going to enjoy seeing this colour take centre stage over the next twelve months and I for one will love it, being the true blue fan that I am!
