All change for the Autumn

A big hello to September and fond goodbye and farewell to August.

Our summer months are almost over and what a jolly mixed bag of weather we have had, I truly cannot remember the last time we have had every season within one month but August was very certainly such a month!

As I sit down to write the B&G September blog I am basking in our Mediterranean heatwave and having great difficulty to concentrate on the forthcoming Autumn season!

I think this year I will find it hard to finally say goodbye to the wonderful summer we have had but with the nights now starting to draw in and the cooler evenings already becoming a feature, I know autumn will be coming along all too soon.

Autumn changes

In terms of colour, this autumn will see the exciting transition of colour from the lights and brights of spring and summer to the richer, deeper tones of the new seasons’ palette.

This autumn sees such a wonderfully rich wealth of colours to serve us through the season.

And I am genuinely delighted this year to see Evening blue and Frost grey have made it into the neutral colour palette too! Along with a wealth of natural beauties to brighten up our days throughout the autumn/winter season…what’s not to like?

Is the changing of the seasons really so bad?

No, not at all, the changing seasons we are blessed with here in the UK are most definitely something to be celebrated. They give us a wealth of opportunity to adapt and adjust our fashion look as the temperatures begin to change and one thing is for sure, there is never time to be fashion bored!

So what of our jewellery trends?

Bold and beautiful, with a passion for pearls is the order of the day and will be bang on-trend over the forthcoming months. Tassels of every kind whether metal, feather or bead will remain prevalent and still continue the boho theme through to the autumn/winter. And our continued fascination with all things sparkly will see rhinestone jewellery and accessories starting to brighten up our days and evenings.

Jewellery designs will certainly not be dull either with this year’s intrigue and quirkiness of twisted jewellery. Beautifully interesting shapes and styles giving us new dynamics to earrings, necklaces and bracelets designs.

This season also sees the leading fashion houses continued prediction that gold is still the preferred metal of choice when it comes to our accessories, but depending on your skin tone, style and tastes, there will still be something for everyone available either on the high street or through online stores and boutiques.
