New year, new you

Happy New Year everyone…

I so love the festive season, glitz, glamour, socialising and generally having fun but after all that excess its New Year that brings a time to reflect, remember, renew and put our new year resolutions into practice. I am not normally very good at coming up with new year resolutions as I have a dreadful habit of not seeing them through and losing momentum…However, this year I will start off by being both determined and focused on new ventures,  to include TLC for me and an exciting vision in both personal and business life for 2018. Good luck to everyone with their own resolution promises, I fully support you especially if you are normally a little bit wobbly like me!

The jewellery catwalk

For 2018 the new jewellery catwalk sees bold, feminine statement pieces continue to strike a pose with vibrant colours sitting comfortably alongside the more traditional jewellery staples of silver, gold and rose gold.

Bracelet and necklace stacking with ever more interesting combinations seems to be here to stay for awhile longer. A great favourite with me as I can never quite choose which ones to wear anyway, although I have made a note to self that the stacking of more than two necklaces just isn’t for me but I’m having a free for all on my bracelets!

Something to look forward to is the new Pantone suggested colour for this year. The fashion must have colour of 2018 has been announced as…

Pantone Ultra Violet 18-3838

This will see some amazing jewellery options with both precious and semi-precious stones, sapphire, amethyst and tanzanite to name but a few.

With its calm, pure mystic qualities Pantone ultra violet is empowering, sophisticated and feminine, and has an amazing quality of sitting very comfortable alongside almost all the rainbow colour palette. It also looks stunning set in either silver or gold jewellery, so it will suit every skin tone too.

We will also see the continued trend of mixing gold and silver jewellery, giving us much more choice in how we wear and utilise our own jewellery collections as well as new pieces we purchase.

This year is going to be colourful and amazing…

Home style

Our homes are having a bit of a colour change too with accessories and wall finishes in lavender, sage, olive and chartreuse taking the stage.

These natural tones will give a sense of peace and serenity to our homes which will be a great benefit in these fast-paced times. So, I for one will be taking advantage of some beautiful new accessories as my thoughts turn to the long-awaited decorating projects in my home!

I am looking forward to some relaxed entertaining with friends and family in the months to come too, a pleasure I have greatly neglected over the past few years.

Blue and Grey HQ

With all of the new colours and trends in mind, January will be an exciting time here at Blue & Grey HQ. The new season’s wholesale and trade shows are taking place in the first few weeks of January and February and it will be time for plenty of leg work to seek out some stylish pieces for our 2018 Spring/Summer collection and a good excuse for me to leave my desk for a few days excercise without going to the gym!

I look forward to a colourful and exciting 2018 with beautiful jewellery and homeware pieces to compliment both your wardrobe and home.

I’ll drink to that…
